Be My Valentine Charlie Brown (1975)
It's Valentine's Day again and Charlie Brown dreams the seemingly hopeless dream to receiving a valentine from anyone. All the while, the rest of the gang have their own trials whether it be Linus' struggle to get the biggest card he can for his beloved teacher, or Lucy trying to get some token from Schroeder while Snoopy and Woodstock are having fun spearing valentines on each other's nose.
Fall in love with Peanuts!
[First lines]
Lucy van Pelt: What are you doing, Charlie Brown?
Charlie Brown: I'm waiting for valentines.
Lucy van Pelt: Oh, well. Good luck.
Charlie Brown: Thank you.
Lucy van Pelt: You'll need it.
Charlie Brown: You didn't have to say that!
After this episode originally aired, children all over America sent valentines to Charlie Brown out of sympathy. (See also It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966))
As Schroeder passes out the valentines, one of the names he calls out is Joanne Lansing. Joanne Lansing is the ink and paint supervisor for this and many of the other Peanuts specials.
All the hand puppets Snoopy holds up during the end credits are caricatures of the crew members listed when they appear
Valentine's Day is the only other holiday besides Christmas that has more than one Peanuts special devoted to it. A second New Year?s special debuted in 2021.
Among the names that Schroeder calls out while passing out Valentines are the names of Charles M. Schulz's own children.
Continuity
Marcy places her valentine in the box, then in the very next shot, she is standing across the room in front of Sally.
Towards the end, when the herd of kids exits the school, Peppermint Patty and Lucy can both be seen multiple times in the group.
Miscellaneous
Sally is the younger sister of Charlie Brown, and Lucy is the older sister of Linus, so they shouldn't be in the same class (or grade), as they are shown here.
Peppermint Patty, Marcie, and Franklin attend a different school, so they should not be at the Valentine's Day party.
Plot holes
Miss Othmar leaving her students unattended while going off with her boyfriend would not be acceptable in a school. She would have another teacher take over the class before leaving.
