The Scorpion King 2: Rise Of The Warrior (2008)
In Ancient Akkad, Mathayus grows up as the proud son of Ashur, a captain in the world-renowned military corps of Black Scorpions, first-rate bodyguards, most of which are sent to courts wide away. By objecting to young Mathayus joining the corps, Ashur incurs the undying enmity of ruthless generalissimo Sargon, gets killed and the orphaned knave is shipped off to a desolate training camp for six years by king Hammurabi's clemency. When he returns as a Black Scorpio, Sargon has bloodily seized the throne and demands cruel proof of blind loyalty. Mathayus refuses, becoming a chased hero. With youth friends, the resourceful Greek Pollux and various mercenary warriors, he embarks on a daring quest to obtain a legendary sword from Sargon's magical ally, the war-goddess Astarte.
See how the legend of The Scorpion King began!
Sargon: You've come to avenge your father, the great hero?
Mathayus: I fight for more than vengeance now, Sargon. I fight for what my father once believed in. And I fight for what you've corrupted.

Continuity
In the boat to Egypt scene, Layla says "...everyone should see the Pyramids..." In the narration of the original Scorpion King film, the time line is set "...before the Pyramids..."
Narration at the start of the original The Scorpion King (2002) takes states the story takes place 'before the time of the pyramids' yet in this prequel Layla talks about going to see the pyramids in Egypt.
Factual errors
When the group is standing atop a pillar of stone in the desert, the pillar casts a shadow on the sand yet there are no corresponding shadows of those standing on it.
After Mathayus kills the Minataur who was distracted by Ari's flute playing, Ari quotes "music has charms that soothe the savage beast". The quote is actually "Music hath charms that soothe the savage breast".
Revealing mistakes
When practicing archery for the young boys wanting to be warriors, all the bows are strung up to the wrong side. The string are close to leave the end of the bow limb because of this.
During one of the last scenes involving Randy Couture's, Sargon, you can see him breathing yet he is supposed to be dead already.
Although set in primitive times some 5,000 years ago, the women have shaved legs and armpits.
Miscellaneous
During the end credits, the cast is listed in order of character importance despite being labeled "in order of appearance".
When Sargon's arrow is flying through the city the same shot is used twice but simply reversed to look like a new shot.
Anachronisms
As Mathayus is asking for his ticket to Egypt, his cloak moves and a modern Celtic design tattoo is visible on his upper left arm/shoulder.
When asked why Mathayus doesn't want to be a king, he replies that it's 'not my cup of tea'. Tea spread to the western world through traders in the 17th century A.D. An Akkadian from the 3rd century B.C. would not use such an expression as he would never have even heard of 'tea'.
