Sarah Jones and Courtney Halverson both had recurring roles on HBO's Big Love.

Sarah Jones (Belinda Owens), Hayley Duff (Annie) and Jordan Bridges (Lee Owen's) reprise their roles from Love Takes Wing (2009) Lillian Owens, the adopted daughter of Belinda & Lee Owen's, has been recast. Courtney Halverson now portrays Lillian Owens.

Continuity

When Annie and her husband leave their home, they have their own wagon, but when they return at the end of the movie, they take the stagecoach and the wagon is nowhere to be found.

The house in which Mr. and Dr. Owens live is the same one Dr. Jackson lives in and uses as a clinic in "Loves Unfolding Dream". Dr. Jackson live in Andersons Corner and the Owens live in Sikeston.

Factual errors

The pennies Mrs. McQueen gave to Lillian at Belinda's office have an image of the Lincoln Memorial on them. The Lincoln Memorial did not appear on pennies until 1959.

Revealing mistakes

When Annie hands her baby to her husband while getting on the stage coach at the end of the film the blanket around the baby is not pulled up to cover the face revealing a baby doll's face.

on her way to school, Lillian is stopped by Peter, a young rowdy, after several tries to allow her to pass. Josh steps in to allow her to continue. Peter cannot allow this affront to his manhood to go unchallenged. In the following jostling, Peter is shoved against a hitching post, which bends several degrees toward the ground; in the next shot the hitching post is straight up as though never touched.
