Director Sidney J. Furie has brought actor Dolph Lundgren to be deeply involved in the making of this movie, from the pre-production stages to the editing phase.
At the beginning of the movie, a thug that Lundgren beats up can be seen wearing a Punisher t-shirt emblazoned with the famous skull design. Dolph Lundgren played the title role in The Punisher (1989).
Inspired by the Rampart scandal, which refers to widespread corruption in the CRASH (or Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums) anti-gang unit of the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) Rampart Division in the late 1990s.
Dolph Lundgren almost co-directed the film and supervised the post-production.
Revealing mistakes
Throughout the movie, cars and other vehicles are shot multiple times with pistols, shotguns, and submachine guns, but display almost no bullet holes.
Errors in geography
This film is all about an LAPD unit,yet all the license plates on vehicles in the film are Ontario plates.
